Hibernians crowned BOV Premier League Champions

Hibernians were crowned BOV Premier League Champions for season 2021/22, following a highly competitive season that saw them take the lead in the standings and maintain the leadership for most of the campaign.
This is the 13th title for the Paolites despite Floriana’s tenacity, and their sights are now set on completing the domestic double, a feat last reached in the 1981/1982 season. Hibernians last won the league in the 2016/2017 season.
This season Hibernians won 15 matches, drew 9 and lost only 3 (one of which was the last game of the season against Gzira United) of their 27 games to finish on top of the table with 54 points. They were followed closely by Floriana with 51, Hamrun with 45 and Gzira with 43 points.
Malta FA President Bjorn Vassallo, and Miguel Borg, Chief Risk Officer at BOV presented the BOV Premier League Trophy to Hibernians stalwarths Andrei Agius and Bjorn Kristensen following the last match of the BOV Premier League 2021/2022. The presentation was done at the Tony Bezzina Stadium in Kordin in front of a sizeable crowd sporting hte black and white colours.
